The Williams AV IR T1 is a two-channel, small-area infrared transmitter that combines the modulator and emitter in a single mountable enclosure, eliminating rack space requirements and simplifying setup for assistive listening and private TV audio. Covering up to 1,300 square feet with the WIR RX22-4 receiver, the IR T1 suits small conference rooms, hospital rooms, assisted living facilities, and jury deliberation rooms. Its 2.3/2.8 MHz operating frequencies minimize interference from high-efficiency lighting, and no FCC license or radio approval is required anywhere in the world.
The IR T1 is built for plug-and-play deployment: any line-level stereo source connects to the 3.5mm input jack, with channel 1 on the tip and channel 2 on the ring for one- or two-channel operation. The transmitter ships with the TFP 055 universal power supply, a 6-foot USB-to-micro-USB power cable, a 3.5mm stereo audio cable, and an RCA adapter cable for televisions and because the unit draws just 5 VDC at 0.2 A, it can be powered directly from a TV’s USB port, keeping installations clean in patient rooms and residential units.
High-efficiency LEDs display power status and audio presence per channel. When no audio is detected on a channel for 12 minutes, the carrier shuts off automatically to save power, then re-enables the moment audio returns. The chassis includes a 1/4″-20 threaded mount compatible with any camera tripod, and optional accessories include the STD 008 TV-top shelf and the BKT 024 omnidirectional wall/ceiling mount, giving AV integrators several placement options for line-of-sight coverage.
Pair the IR T1 with the WIR RX22-4N bodypack receiver or the IR RX20 stethoset receiver, both compatible with its 2.3/2.8 MHz carriers. Complete pre-configured kits and accessories are available in the Williams AV collection.

Yes. The transmitter requires only 5 VDC at 0.2 A over micro-USB, so it can run from a TV’s USB port or any standard USB power source in addition to the included TFP 055 supply.
The chassis has a 1/4″-20 threaded mount for any camera tripod. For installed applications, the optional STD 008 TV-top shelf or BKT 024 omnidirectional wall/ceiling bracket positions the emitter for clear line of sight to listeners.
Yes. Infrared light does not penetrate walls, so audio stays contained within the room a key reason IR systems are specified for jury deliberation rooms and government facilities.
