The ExtronDTP3 T 202is a long distance, digital twisted pair transmitter for sending HDMI, audio, and bidirectional RS232 signals up to 330feet (100meters) over a shielded CAT6A cable to Extron DTP3enabled products. It provides one HDMI input with loop-through for local monitoring. The transmitter supports video resolutions up to 4K/60 at 4:4:4 color sampling, complies with HDCP2.3, and features EDIDMinder. For maximum image quality and minimal latency, all supported video resolutions are transported without compression. The compact enclosure size and flexible remote power capability, from either the transmitter or receiver, make the DTP3T202 ideal for discreet placement in lecterns, beneath tables, or wherever needed to meet application requirements.

The DTP3T202 enables the reliable, long distance transmission of HDMI2.0b signals at data rates up to 18Gbps supporting HDR, Deep Color up to 12bit, 3D, and embedded HD lossless audio formats. In addition, the DTP3 output can be configured to send video and embedded audio, plus bidirectional RS232 signals to an HDBaseT-enabled display. DDC communication of EDID and HDCP is continuously maintained between source and display, ensuring direct compatibility and optimal signal transmission between devices.

Features that Streamline Integration

To enhance and simplify integration of devices and to help ensure optimal system performance, the DTP3T202 features Extron EDIDMinder, which automatically manages EDID by maintaining continuous EDID communication with each source. The technology ensures that the sources power up properly and reliably output content for display.

Front panel LED indicators provide immediate visual confirmation of signal presence for the input, as well as HDCP status and power. On the back panel, LEDs indicate signal presence and link status for the output. A buffered HDMI input loop-through provides an output signal to drive a local monitor.

Convenient Control and Power

The DTP3T202 provides many other integrator-friendly features designed to help simplify installation. It supports simultaneous transmission of bidirectional RS232 from a control system for AV device control. The transmitter can be remotely powered over the shielded twisted pair cable by a DTP3-enabled product. In addition, it can be configured to provide power to the connected receiver, allowing both devices to share one power supply.

Bidirectional RS-232 control signals can be transmitted alongside the video signal, facilitating remote operation of AV devices without the need for additional cabling. For added convenience, a USB-C configuration port on the front panel offers ready access to information and easy updating of firmware. Configuration of the DTP3T202 is made simple with Extrons PCS- Product Configuration Software and its user-friendly GUI that is very easy to navigate. This software application allows for expedited setup, commissioning, real-time operation and monitoring.

The DTP3T202 transmitter is housed in a 1″ (2.5cm) high, quarter rack width metal enclosure. The low-profile design allows for discreet placement in tight spaces. To ensure optimal performance with DTP3 systems, Extron recommends XTPDTP22 cables and accessories. These 22-gauge shielded twisted pair cables, shielded RJ45 plugs, jacks, and couplers have been engineered for optimum performance for DTP3 products running at 18Gbps. Extron XTPDTP22 cable bandwidth is verified to 500MHz and utilizes a S/FTP design with four shielded 22AWG twisted pair conductors inside an overall braided shield for superior performance and noise immunity.
