Product Overview

The Middle Atlantic RSH4A5XW is a custom 5U wide rackshelf with a black brushed and anodized face plate, engineered to mount non-rackmount AV components in any standard 19″ equipment rack. Each shelf in the RSH4A series is custom cut to the exact footprint of your specified component, so the unit sits flush in the face plate with no visible gaps. With a 17.5″ usable depth and wide-format opening, this 5-space shelf accepts deeper, broader chassis that standard rack shelves cannot accommodate.

Product Description

Integrators routinely face source components, consumer electronics, and specialty processors that ship without rack ears. The RSH4A5XW solves this with a custom rackmount shelf approach: Middle Atlantic cuts the anodized face plate to match your component’s exact dimensions, producing a factory-finished appearance instead of an open shelf with exposed gaps. The 5U (five rack space) height provides clearance for taller equipment such as full-size AV receivers and amplifiers, while the 17.5″ depth supports longer chassis without overhanging the shelf. As the wide-format version in the 5U lineup, the RSH4A5XW is the right choice when a component is too wide for the standard RSH4A5X opening. The black brushed and anodized finish matches Middle Atlantic rack enclosures and blends with surrounding rackmount gear for a uniform equipment wall. Installation requires no modification to the component itself the shelf mounts to standard 19″ rack rails and the equipment rests securely within the cutout. This makes the shelf a practical option for residential AV racks, conference room credenza racks, and broadcast or production environments where mixed-format equipment must present cleanly. Pair it with other Middle Atlantic rack accessories available at Creation Networks to complete the build.
