Product Overview

The Middle Atlantic S3 is a 3-space perforated security cover that prevents unauthorized access to rack-mounted AV equipment while providing a clear view of equipment settings and status indicators through its large perforation pattern. At 1 inch deep with installed rubber edging, this metal cover is a cost-effective way to secure three rack spaces of equipment in classrooms, conference rooms, and other accessible AV rack locations. Guardian Series security rack screws can be used to further reinforce the cover against removal.

Product Description

The S-series security covers use a standard larger perforation pattern that allows a clear view of front panel controls, displays, and status LEDs compared to the finer SF-series pattern. This makes the S3 appropriate for installations where facility staff need to read equipment status without removing the cover, while still preventing casual tampering. The 1-inch deep metal cover body creates a robust barrier against button presses, input changes, and knob adjustments that could disrupt an AV system in operation. Rubber edging installed around the cover frame ensures the equipment’s front panel finishes are not scratched when the cover is installed or removed. For higher-security environments, the S3 can be paired with Middle Atlantic’s Guardian Series HSK security rack screws, which require a proprietary driver bit for removal and cannot be operated with standard Phillips or hex tools. The S series covers are available in 1, 2, and 3-space configurations.
