Product Overview

The Middle Atlantic VSDR-8 is an 8-space vented split security door that adds keylocked front access control to a select portion of an equipment rack. It lets integrators divide a rack into a secured installer zone and an open, client-accessible user zone within the same enclosure. The vented steel construction maintains front airflow to the equipment behind the door. It can also serve as a full front door on Middle Atlantic RK and BRK Series racks.

Product Description

In shared equipment rooms, classrooms, retail backrooms, and conference room credenzas, not every rack-mounted device should be within reach of end users. The VSDR-8 vented split security door solves this by covering an 8-space section of the rack with a keylocked, vented steel door. Network switches, control processors, power management, and other configuration-sensitive gear mount behind the door in the installer zone, protected from unauthorized tampering. Devices that clients need to operate day to day, such as source components or user-facing interfaces, stay in the open user zone of the rack.

The vented door style preserves front-panel airflow for the secured equipment, an important consideration in commercial AV installations where amplifiers and processors generate heat. Built from sturdy steel with a black powder coat finish, the door matches the look of standard Middle Atlantic rack hardware and stands up to daily service access. Because it also functions as a full door on RK and BRK Series racks, the VSDR-8 is a flexible line item for integrators standardizing on one security door across multiple rack deployments.
