Product Overview

The Williams AV Infinium BA R1 is a handheld Auracast receiver designed for the Infinium broadcast audio system (BA CT1). It gives venues a managed, ADA-compliant assistive listening receiver for guests who do not carry their own Auracast-enabled hearing aids or headphones. The R1 pairs the largest OLED display in its class with tactile, easy-access buttons and per-ear balance control, making it practical to hand out in theaters, lecture halls, houses of worship, and other commercial AV environments.

Product Description

Auracast broadcast audio allows unlimited listeners, but ADA assistive listening requirements still call for venue-provided receivers and that is the role the R1 fills. Its ergonomic body-pack form factor includes a removable belt clip, large tactile buttons for users with limited dexterity or vision, and a 1.54-inch diagonal OLED display that makes channel selection straightforward for first-time users. Balance control lets each listener adjust audio delivery between ears to match their hearing needs, improving speech intelligibility without staff intervention.

The R1 supports both secure (private) and open (public) Auracast broadcast modes, so the same receiver works for encrypted corporate or courtroom audio and for open public-venue channels. A field-replaceable lithium-ion battery delivers more than 20 hours of operation per charge enough for a full event day and recharges through USB-C or drop-in contacts compatible with the Infinium 2-bay (CHG 003) and 6-bay CHG 004 charging docks. A 3.5 mm stereo jack supports wired headphones, earphones, and neckloops for T-coil hearing aid users. Earphones, neckloops, and charging docks are sold separately; complete packaged options are available in the Williams AV collection at Creation Networks.

Frequently Asked Questions

What transmitter does the Infinium R1 work with?

The R1 is designed for the Williams AV Infinium broadcast audio system and receives Auracast audio from the Infinium BA CT1 controller and transmitter. It supports both secure (private) and open (public) Auracast broadcast modes.

Does the R1 come with headphones or a neckloop?

No. The R1 ships with the receiver and lithium-ion battery only. Headphones, earphones, T-coil neckloops, and charging docks are sold separately, or included in packaged Infinium systems.

How is the receiver charged?

The R1 charges via its USB-C port (5V @ ~500 mA) or by dropping it into an Infinium charging dock the 2-bay CHG 003 or 6-bay CHG 004 using its dual charging contacts. Williams AV recommends charging only with approved Infinium chargers.

How long does the battery last?

The 1200 mAh field-replaceable lithium-ion battery delivers more than 20 hours of operation per charge, covering a full day of events without a midday swap.

Does deploying R1 receivers satisfy ADA requirements?

The R1 is the venue-provided receiver component of an ADA-compliant Infinium assistive listening system. ADA receiver counts depend on seating capacity, and a portion of receivers must be hearing-aid compatible, which the R1 supports via 3.5 mm neckloops.

What warranty applies?

Williams AV covers the Infinium R1 with a 2-year parts and labor warranty.
