When the presenter position or input device location is more than standard USB cable range from the system rack or mount, the EXT-USB-4Port provides the extension infrastructure. The unit uses RJ45 cabling to extend four USB 3.0-compatible ports up to 60 feet from the host system, using software drivers to maintain device recognition and input fidelity over the extended run. The four USB Type-A ports on the remote end accommodate multiple simultaneous input devices. Installation requires a separately purchased RJ45 cable run between the EXT-USB-4Port unit and the Pointmaker system.
