The IR+ platform is built on a distributed emitter array architecture: instead of a single high-power transmitter panel, coverage comes from compact IR E4 emitters placed for direct line of sight to listeners. Up to four emitters connect directly to the IR M1 modulator’s RJ-45 ports, and systems can scale to 16 emitters with IR A4 emitter arrays. Emitters can be stacked together to form a high-output array for one large zone, or distributed throughout the venue to cover room wings, balconies, and other locations a single emitter cannot reach.

Installation is a single CAT5e home run per emitter. The cable delivers 48 VDC power from the modulator, RS-485 communication, and the baseband infrared signal, so the emitter mounts anywhere structured cabling can reach. The included BKT 024 bracket supports wall or ceiling mounting, and at 0.8 pounds the unit places minimal demand on mounting surfaces. Because infrared light does not pass through walls, IR E4-based systems keep audio confidential within the room and allow adjacent spaces to run independent channels without interference. Note that the IR E4 is not a standalone product and requires an IR M1 modulator to function.
