The Williams AV IR T2 is a commercial-grade, medium-area infrared transmitter for assistive listening and language interpretation in conference rooms, assisted living facilities, small cinemas and theaters, classrooms, and courtrooms. Covering up to 18,000 square feet in single-channel mode 50 percent more than the previous WIR TX75 the IR T2 combines the modulator and emitter in one compact, wall- or ceiling-mountable enclosure with no rack space required. Selectable 2.3, 2.8, 3.3, and 3.8 MHz transmission frequencies and RS-232 control readiness make it a straightforward specification for installed commercial AV systems.
With a significantly wider coverage pattern and more output power than its predecessor, a single IR T2 covers most medium-area venues without the added expense of secondary emitter units. Audio connects through two Euroblock line inputs that accept balanced or unbalanced signal from a DSP, mixer, or amplifier, while a 3.5mm microphone input with a dedicated gain knob and channel selection switch supports standalone operation. Back-panel LEDs indicate power status and audio presence per channel, and a power-saving mode shuts off the IR carrier after 12 minutes without audio.
For managed AV environments, the IR T2 can be controlled remotely via RS-232 commands: powering the unit on and off, remotely setting the IR frequency pair (2.3/2.8 or 3.3/3.8 MHz), muting outgoing audio without powering down, switching the back-panel LEDs, and querying the unit for troubleshooting. The full command set is published in the IR T2 Programmer’s Guide, making integration with room control processors straightforward. The transmitter ships with the BKT 024 wall/ceiling mounting bracket and the TFP 057 international power supply with line cord, and it is compatible with WIR RX22-4, WIR RX18, and IR R1 receivers.
Pair the IR T2 with the WIR RX22-4N four-channel receiver for bodypack listening, or see complete pre-built systems and accessories in the Williams AV collection.

The IR T2 works with the WIR RX22-4 four-channel bodypack, the WIR RX18 stethoset, and the IR R1 receiver. Any number of receivers can operate within the coverage area.
Yes. RS-232 commands support power on/off, remote frequency selection (2.3/2.8 or 3.3/3.8 MHz), audio muting, LED control, and troubleshooting queries. The full command list is in the IR T2 Programmer’s Guide.
Two Euroblock line inputs accept balanced or unbalanced line-level signal from a DSP, mixer, or amplifier. A 3.5mm microphone input with dedicated gain is also available for standalone setups.
Yes. With four selectable carrier frequencies, the IR T2 supports multi-channel operation, and four-channel receivers such as the WIR RX22-4 let listeners select their language feed.
Yes. Infrared light does not penetrate walls, so transmissions remain contained a requirement frequently specified for courtrooms and secure government facilities.
